We started up because when the B3218 was upgraded to the A3079 the road seemed to become busier and faster. Although the County structure plan made provision to do so, nothing had been done to make bridlepaths to compensate for this problem. The road was becoming far too dangerous to ride along.

We realized that for a great deal of its length a disused railway line ran alongside the A3079 and would make a perfect bridleway. We formed our group to try and make this dream a reality and are working steadily towards realizing it.

It has become apparent, however, since we started work, that although a number of cycle ways have been created recently in Devon, the needs of horse riders have been overlooked completely!!

Bridleways have always been shared with cyclists but cycle ways are not,for the most part. being shared with horse riders. We feel that we should be treated fairly and equally. We are NOT anti bike! In fact we are not anti anything!

We just want fair and equal treatment for horse riders.
